Daily Optimiser Rides Again

What is/was Daily Optimiser
Daily Optimiser was the first iOS I worked on back in 2013(!) with my friend Nick In’t Ven
It basically shows your calendar and reminders in a single screen - nothing exciting, but I loved making it, and it set me up for a career making apps
I’d moved away from using Apple Reminders a while ago to Todoist, so the app was left to wither on the vine and a few years ago I pulled it from the App store
I’m back using reminders again now, and when I shared a list of my apps a few days ago I noticed my old flame, and thought I might bring it back to life
Modern tools made this easy

The original code was OK, but very out of date, written in Objective-C and using XiBs and Storyboards and other blasts from the past
However using Codex it was a breeze to rewrite all of the logic in much more modern SwiftUI and Swift 6. After a few hours, I had something that looked nice and sleek, even though I say it myself 😀
I took the opportunity to simplify the app right back to its roots of being a simple view of meetings and tasks, and to be honest I have started using it again!
I also added integration with my QuickAdd app (if it’s installed), so when you tap the Add button it takes you there rather than the Reminders app
Is this the start of a Brave Location Office Suite?
Give it a go?
You can find more about the app on the main Daily Optimiser page, or download it from the link below
